The collection consists of photographs and correspondence of Myrtle Louise Davis while training and serving for the Women's
Army Corps, from 1944-1946. Davis writes from Third WAC Training Center in Fort Oglethorpe, Georgia; Halloran General Hospital,
Staten Island, New York; Plattsburgh Barracks, Plattsburgh, New York; Greensboro and Fort Braggs, North Carolina. Correspondence
regards basic training, inspections, staging, girls in her platoon; classes for becoming a registered Occupational Therapist,
patients, activities in the barracks; WAC events, her job in the Medical Library, music classes, duties at the AAF Convalescent
Hospital, and army life. Photographs (circa 1944-1946) depict Louise and WAC officers posing at different locations, including
A.A.F. Convalescent Hospital and Fort Oglethorpe, Georgia. The collection also includes Davis's personnel records, postcards
collected by Davis (with images of Grand Central Station Serviceman's Lounge, WAAC images, WAAC Military Band, Camp MacDonough,
Plattsburg, and Albany), training schedules, and standard "How to" procedures. Loose issues of Army Talk (published by the
War Department); The Barracks Bag and The Sentry (both published by AAF Convalescent Hospital at Plattsburg Barracks, N.Y.)
are also included.

This collection consists of correspondence, photograph cards, a journal, and a muster roll of Captain Stanley's Troup Artillery
for November and December 1861. The correspondence is mainly between Stanley and his wife Julia. He writes from Camp Lawton
(Savannah) in 1861 and then from Tallahassee and Quincy, Florida. The journal includes entries from Benjamin Henry Pope in
1862 as he serves in Company K, 9th Mississippi Infantry, and provides details of battles in the Glasgow/Cave City/Munfordville,
Kentucky area. The photographs are of Marcellus Stanley, Alexander Franklin Pope, and G. T. Beauregard.

The collection consists of biographical information, financial papers, scrapbook/school book, medical notebooks, printed material,
and photographs. Conway's typed autobiography describes his life as a child on the plantation, his Civil War experiences,
and his medical career. His medical notebooks list patients and their treatments. He also wrote a notebook about early medicine
and remedies. The school notebook of Mamie Conway (Dr. Conway's daughter) was begun while she was a student at the Lucy Cobb
Institute (Athens, Ga.) and later turned into a scrapbook of clippings and mementos. Photographs include the wedding of Mamie
Conway and William C. Mizelle/Mizell in 1904. Additionally, there are postcards to Mary Ann and Ola Kemp and Mr. and Mrs.
Douglas P. Dent; a small number of items from Conway Mizelle's travels in Cuba; and material related to Patrick Mizelle at
the Monastery of the Holy Spirit (Conyers, Ga.).

The collection consists of materials documenting various aspects of the unit's history - training, unit actions, causalities,
commendations, diaries and recollections. Some soldiers kept personal items from the Army or items they acquired while in
service, such as immunization records, post cards, a parachute, iron cross and German flag. There are over 500 photographs,
most of which are identified, and copies of campaign maps from the European theatre with unit positions marked and an attached
narrative related what action took place in these locations. Following the war, unit reunions have been held at regular intervals
and materials from these gatherings are present in the collection. It is anticipated that more material will be added to the
collection in the future. Contributors to this collection include George Marshall, James T. Dunn, John W. Talley, and many
others.

is written on humorous postcards of that time period. A 1913 letter from W. A. Cunningham (head coach at the University of
Georgia) contains diagrams of football plays. The school papers include a University of Georgia football banquet program (1910)
with signatures by coaches and players, and two compositions describing York's trip from Fort McPherson (Ga.) to Cuba in 1906.
There are photographs of houses where Gus York lived, a wagon train in Cuba, county extension work, and a panorama view of
the University of Georgia class of 1912-1913.

The Lucy Hargrett Draper Center and Archives for the Study of the Rights of Women in History and Law is comprised of primary
and secondary materials in a variety of formats with an emphasis on documenting women's rights, especially the United States
and British Women's Suffrage Movements (1840-1920). The focus of the collection is on leading figures such as Susan B. Anthony,
Clara Barton, Carrie Chapman Catt, Julia Ward Howe, Mary Livermore, Lucretia Mott, Elizabeth Cady Stanton, Lucy Stone, Emmeline
Pankhurst and her daughter Sylvia, including correspondence and photographs. Other materials relate to the suffrage movement
in the United States, such as postcards, photographs, government documents and periodicals, record activities at the state,
regional, and national levels, both for and against suffrage.
In addition, supporting materials recognize some of the leaders of the abolition movement, including Frederick Douglass, Harriet
Tubman, and Sojourner Truth, each of whom spoke up on behalf of women's rights as well as against slavery. Moreover, to place
the suffrage materials in historical context the collection also includes pre-suffrage treatise on women's rights and legal
documents dating to the 16th century as well as materials related to post-suffrage efforts (1921-2000) to pass the ERA, the
formation of N.O.W., the women's liberation movement, and the Pro-Choice movement.
