The collection consists mainly of photographs, many with captions, from World War II, dating 1938, 1943-1945. Photographs
depict Navy Officers, local people, and prisoners of war in New Guinea, Remagen Bridge, a Liberty Ship being unloaded off
the shores of Goodenough Island, and temporary quarters on Luzon Island, in the Philippines. Also included is a war ration
book issued to Edna J. Eaton, wife of Harold A. Eaton, Haverhill, Massachusetts; United States War-Savings Certificate issued
to Callie Sheppard, Greensboro, North Carolina, 1918; and an explanatory letter addressed to the University of Georgia Library,
dated May 20, 1986, from Sgt. Joseph W. Reid.
