Some people identified include U.S. Secretary of War, Newton D. Baker, Major General B. B. Buck, of the American Expeditionary Forces in France, Major General Adelbert Cronkhite and Chief of Staff Colonel William H. Waldron.

The collection consists of a diary kept by Alphonse Bloemer while serving in World War I, from January 14, 1918-November 19, 1918. Bloemer writes about his trip from Camp MacArthur, Texas to New Jersey, to Brest, France; and building barracks, stables, hospitals, and roads. A few entries regard shell shock cases and men killed in battle. The collection also contains two photographs of the soldiers of Company B, 107th Engineers. The accompanying copy of Wally: his cartoons of the A.E.F., by Private Abian A. Wallgren has been cataloged. The call number is Hargrett Manuscripts Folio D526.2 .W344 1919.
