These materials trace the history of the journal from its struggle to stay financially afloat in the late 1940s through its current award-winning and nationally respected modern day status. The work-related correspondence of most of the The Georgia Review's editors is found here along with documents related to exhibits and conferences the journal's staff participated in over the years. The collection consists of the papers of John Donald Wade during the years 1946-1950. The major part of the collection is correspondence - letters from Wade soliciting manuscripts for the Georgia review, response letters from authors (including Flannery O'Connor, Robert Penn Warren, Sinclair Lewis, and others), letters relating to Wade's horticultural interests, and some personal letters.
