Revell describes the September 1741 attack upon the sloop James Barnes carrying stores intended for General James Oglethorpes'
men at Fort Frederica, Georgia and asks for the compensation due him.

The collection consists of eight small manuscript notebooks attributed to Thomas Stephens; however, the author is unknown.
The entries are undated, but were kept during the early years of Georgia's settlement. The writings document the arguments
made by the Malcontents against the Georgia Trustees' administration of the colony. Notebooks contain handwritten entries,
in pencil with ink overlaid, regarding tariff, slavery, voyages, rum, and the condition of Georgia.

materials for Josephine Mellichamp's book, Senators from Georgia, provide an abundance of information on the careers of Georgia
senators. The drafts of "Georgia Heritage" contained in these papers may be the only extant copies of the manuscript since
the material was never published. The collection also contains a small collection of printed works.

for Establishing the Colony of Georgia in America. The correspondence includes letters between officials and settlers in the
Colony and the Trustees. Major correspondees include James Oglethorpe, Thomas Causton, Samuel Eveleigh, Thomas Christie, Elisha
Dobree, John Wesley and Trustees Benjamin Martryn and Harman Verelst. The letters provide comprehensive information regarding
the settlement of Georgia, especially in Savannah and Frederica; Indian trading and relations; activities of the French and
Spanish; the question of slavery; Salzburger and Moravian settlers; and religious matters. The collection also includes the
journals and letters from 1736-1745 of William Stephens, secretary and later president of the Colony.
