This collection consists of correspondence, photograph cards, a journal, and a muster roll of Captain Stanley's Troup Artillery
for November and December 1861. The correspondence is mainly between Stanley and his wife Julia. He writes from Camp Lawton
(Savannah) in 1861 and then from Tallahassee and Quincy, Florida. The journal includes entries from Benjamin Henry Pope in
1862 as he serves in Company K, 9th Mississippi Infantry, and provides details of battles in the Glasgow/Cave City/Munfordville,
Kentucky area. The photographs are of Marcellus Stanley, Alexander Franklin Pope, and G. T. Beauregard.

The collection consists of the papers of Erastus Newton Bates from 1834-1898. Includes correspondence to his wife Lucy, pertaining
to his Civil War service with the 80th Illinois Volunteers in Kentucky and Tennessee. Bates' letters discuss the battles of
Perryville, Kentucky (1862) and Murfreesboro, Tennessee (1862) and his subsequent imprisonment in Libby Prison, Richmond,
Virginia (1862-1864). Also contains certificates, deeds, commissions, and a few missionary letters from India and Ceylon written
by Lucy Bates' brother.

The collection consists of papers of the Thomas Jones family of Thomas County, Georgia from 1819-1889. Thomas Jones' papers
include lists of taxable property (slaves, land, livestock, and equipment); indentures; and receipts for the purchase of slaves
(names of enslaved people include Adam, a carpenter, Charles, Randal, John, Betsy, Nancy, Abram, Ann, Eliza, Sam, Ned, Bob,
Lucy, Cherry, Nelson, Charlott, Robert, Lindy, and Mary). Letters are from Henry Francis Jones to his sister, and between
Edwin T. Davis and Mattie Davis; and regard battles, military strategy, and military life. Papers of E.T. Davis concern Davis's
military services, and include diary entries with regard to his service with the Dixie Boys of Company A, 57th Georgia Infantry
Regiment. The collection also includes plats, indentures, and writs regarding land in Georgia, mainly Irwin and Thomas counties,
and a portrait of Thomas Jones.
