The collection consists of correspondence from Robert L. Bennett to his parents while serving in the 2nd Army then later the
8th Army from 1943, 1945-1946. Letters written from training camps in Ft. Riley, Kansas, and Tennessee, and military posts
in California, describe the geographic areas, training, and Bennett's duties. Letters written from the Pacific Theater discuss
the Philippines, especially Manila and Leyte, and Japan. Letters include descriptions of the area, the people, camp life,
and typhoons; and regard Japanese prisoners of war and independence of the Philippines. Post war letters regard Bennett's
duties of processing troops in and out of the area and teaching classes for the army.

The collection consists of correspondence, photographs, and ephemera dated from 1919 to 1963 and collected by the William
Bruce Eidson family of Ways (or Richmond Hill), Bryan County, Georgia. The bulk of the collection consists of correspondence
from William Bruce Eidson, Jr. to his parents from 1939 to 1952 while he was a student at Georgia Tech, in the army as a flight
trainee and part of its specialized training program, and a journalism student at the University of Georgia after the war.
Also included is a group of letters written by William Bruce Eidson to his wife from 1919 to 1952 while he worked elsewhere
in the lumber trade and later as part of the Civilian Conservation Corps and in Columbus, Georgia at Fort Benning.

files, and writings. A portion of the collection documents the Sargent family troubles involving James Sargent's health.
