William W. Fincher served in the Georgia State Senate from 1965-1991. His committee assignments included Higher Education,
Health and Welfare, Banking Finance, Appropriations, Human Resources, and Interstate Cooperation. Prior to his service in
the state senate, Fincher was a pharmacist in Chatsworth, GA and operated a theaters in Alabama, Georgia, and Tennessee. The
collection consists of personal and official correspondence; constituent letters from Murray, Catoosa, and Whitfield counties;
photographs; and memorabilia.

photographs related to Friend's service in the South Pacific during World War II, nature and wildlife in Georgia, Georgia
politicians and his travels around the United States and the world. Of special interest is a film Friend shot in 1958 of the
a two day seminar held at the Highlander Folk School in Monteagle, Tennessee, which was attended by Martin Luther King, Jr,
Rosa Parks and others. The collection also contains personal files with images and articles about his life.
