The collection is two letters regarding the donation of the Flisch family Bible. The bible was presented to the University
of Georgia Libraries by Julia A. Flisch, July 5, 1940.
The Bible is bound in calf with leather clasps and reinforced on the corners with small brass plates, and is written in the

The collection consists of a two-page genealogical table of the Twiggs family (descendants of Thomas Twiggs, died in Virginia
circa 1614) was compiled by Alexander Mc C. Duncan about 1910 from records furnished him by Eugenia Washington. It covers
the years 1608 to the late eighteenth century listing five generations of descendants. Although not a complete record, it
does chronicle much of the early history of this prominent Georgia family. Also included is a note to Duncan from F. F. Screven
pertaining to the genealogical table.

(1837-1895). The correspondence includes letters (1837-1857) from Lawson to his daughters Sarah Penelope and Martha J. while
at school in Jeffersonville, Twiggs County, Georgia and later (1847-1857) to Sarah Penelope Oliver after her marriage. The
letters discuss family activities, the girls schooling, and some farm news. Correspondence (1868-1871) relates to the Brown
family and contains information on slave activities, schools, and family news. The bulk of the collection consists of genealogical
materials of Mary C.R. Davis relating to the Lawson family.
