The collection consists of records of the Dozier Land Company (Athens, Ga.) and its predecessors, the American Land Company
(Athens, Ga.) and the National Land Company (Augusta, Ga.), from 1905-1920 and contains mostly correspondence relating to
residential real estate development in Augusta and Athens, Georgia including Oconee Place. Correspondents include Thomas H.
Dozier, James Howard Dozier, W.B. Dozier, Olin A. Dozier, Athens Mutual Insurance Company. Correspondence discusses segregated
homes for African Americans. Discussion of breeding Hereford cattle and concerns of fever ticks. Of interest is correspondence
relating to the hiring of balloon ascensionists as a publicity gimmick.
