The collection consists of one volume containing newspaper clippings and typescript. The book is seventy-seven pages long,

Several newspapers printed articles, contemplating war figures, at the war's end. The volume has several of these, including
ones entitled "Resources of South in War: Comparative Strengths of the Belligerents," "The Men Who Fought for the South in
1861-1865," and "Relative Numbers." Other typed lists show the analysis more clearly. One in particular titled "Strength of
the Confederate Army (At the close of the War)" details those surrendered, killed, and wounded. Slight comparisons with the
Union are made. These were made in the early years after the war before reconciliation and Reconstruction.
