The collection consists of correspondence between Butcher and death row inmates James W. Brown and Norman Richard Cleary,
from 2000-2004. Correspondence concerns personal interests, family, activities in prison, lawyers, trials, other death row
inmates, hobbies. Cleary writes several letters about God, Christianity, and another death row inmate's attempt to stab him.
There are also emails between Butcher, family members of the inmates; and letters Butcher writes asking for clemency for both
inmates. Papers also include offender queries printed from the Georgia Department of Corrections and Oklahoma Department of
Corrections, containing Brown's and Cleary's physical descriptions and sentence details; newspaper clippings regarding the
executions, and various prison forms; and documents concerning the execution process, and rules and regulations of visiting
death row inmates.
