The personal series contains materials relating to Hughes Spalding and the Spalding family; while the business series contains
information on the legal practices of the Spalding family and other business interests.
The Catholic Church series contains materials detailing Spalding's activities with the church and allied organizations.
The Financial Records series simply contain cancelled checks from 1928 to 1938.
The Jack J. Spalding (Spalding's father) series includes correspondence (1933-1938), canceled checks, legal documents, and
business papers (1870-1938) pertaining to Jack J. Spalding's legal career and the law firm of King and Spalding in Atlanta,
Georgia.
The Jack J. Spalding, Jr. (Spalding's brother) series includes correspondence (1943-1951) from Jack Jr. to Hughes Spalding,
first from New York City, then Greenville, South Carolina, and typed carbon copies of Hughes' response. The letters primarily
discuss family matters and personal interests. The series also contains financial materials and legal documents pertaining
to the estate of Jack Jr.

This collection includes original data accumulated by weather bureau offices in both Atlanta's city (1878-1954) and airport
(1931-1970) offices, Augusta (1870-1936), and Columbus (1946-1995). Included are handwritten hourly, daily, and monthly meteorological
and climatological data sheets, reports, and observations. The Columbus records also include station log books (1942-1995)
regarding equipment and expenses and several photographs of the office (1946, 1948). The general series has two volumes that
relate to weather across the state, "Damaging weather in Georgia" and "Temperature average data sheets."

Collection includes transcriptions of tapes recorded by Richard Yarbrough each day on his drive home from work which date
from July 1993 to September 1996, as well as binders for the Atlanta Committee for the Olympic Games and the International
Olympic Committee containing meeting minutes, press operations, fact sheets, staff manuals and briefings, news advisories,
press releases, venues, contact lists, agreements and policies, federal government projects, and facilities and services.
Tapes discusses everyday life, organizational and PR challenges, workplace friction and relevant press coverage. Also included
are preliminary mock-ups of the Atlanta Olympics mascot Izzy, an Izzy plush, an archery pictogram tile, and a Centennial Olympic
Games silver medal. Silver medals were given to high ranking officials who aided in organizing the Olympic games.
