Long, Francis Long Taylor, and Edward C. Long discussing family matters. The collection also contains a bound volume of handwritten copies of correspondence by and about their father Crawford W. Long and his medical career and discovery of ether as an anesthetic, transcribed by his daughter Florence Long Bartow in 1915; a scrapbook of clippings, postcards, and photographs of an 1903 European trip by Francis Long Taylor and Emma M. Long; and some legal documents and misc. material.

The collection consists of the papers of the Hillyer family from 1805-1990 with the bulk between 1805-1874. Materials from the early years (1805-1819) pertain to Shaler Hillyer and consist of a letter and account book describing Petersburg, Elbert County, Georgia. The collection contains a memoir written by Junius Hillyer describing life on his family's plantation, slavery, the family's move to Athens, Georgia (1821), Junius' attendance at grammar school, descriptions of and activities at Franklin College (University of Georgia). Also includes photocopies of letters from William Dickerson and Peter Wellborn Martin, friends of the Hillyers; materials pertaining to the publication of THE LIFE AND TIMES OF JUDGE JUNIUS HILLYER; and dedication of a marker at the Freeman Hillyer homeplace in Popular Grove, Georgia.

The materials document the various activities of the club including the Founders Memorial Garden, cemetery projects, markers, and flower shows. The collection also contains programs, member lists, yearbooks (1930-1936), minutes (1934-1938) of the Garden Club of Georgia, a state-wide organization which coordinates the interests of the various garden clubs in Georgia.

The Student Government Association (SGA) records consists of three series: "General Administrative Materials", "Allocations" and "Scrapbooks". The first series, "General Administrative Material", holds general information about the organization, such as minutes and brochures, along with photographs. These documents were originally in binders and date from 1995 to 2010. The second series, "Allocations", covers financial allotments given to small clubs and organizations at the University of Georgia. The materials in this series were also originally in binders and cover the years 1996-2006. The third series, "Scrapbooks", holds photographs and other organizational memorabilia. The pages which date from 1989 to 2010 have been removed from the actual scrapbooks and are housed in oversized flat boxes.

The bulk of the collection falls between the years 1861-1863 and consists of correspondence between Colonel Deloney and his wife, Rosa, in Athens (Ga.) while he served in Cobb's Legion during the Civil War. Fighting mainly in Virginia, he writes of the Peninsular Campaign and the Battle of Brandy Station (1862) and the Battle of Chancellorsville (1863). The collection also includes genealogical material on the Deloney, Huguenin, and Baker families collected by Gordan C. Carson of Savannah, Georgia.

Early letters are addressed to George while he attended Round Hill Academy in Northampton, Massachusetts. Later letters include those to and from his wife, Susan; their children; and other family members. Most letters relate to family matters, day-to-day circumstances and living conditions, and travel between their home in Clarksville and Savannah. Of particular interest are letters from son, J.F. Kollock while attending Franklin College (now the University of Georgia); correspondence from E.H. (or F.) Campbell of Augusta, Georgia describing the yellow fever epidemic of 1854; and letters from W.P. Johnson and wife M.E., describing trips to Paris, France and Washington, D.C. describing the construction of the Smithsonian Institute and the Washington Monument.
