Of particular interest are the papers documenting a fact-finding trip to the University of Wisconsin to investigate the program of Agricultural Education in place there; various files detailing the in loco parentis functions performed by the University; a substantial subseries of correspondence with George Foster Peabody; a limited series of correspondence with Trustees of the University, including Hill's function as Chairman of the Committee on State Institutions; a substantial volume of speeches and articles delineating Hill's engagement with the serious national debate underway on the future of public education for everyone.

Series one consists of scrapbook material kept by Leila Mize pertaining to her activities in school and as a teacher and home demonstration agent. There are documents about the Cooperative Extension Service, genealogical materials on the Telford, Ritchie, and Tuck families, Moina Michael, Lurline Collier, the Old Greenville Presbyterian Church, S.C., Hebron Presbyterian Church, and information about her daughter, Jessie Julia Mize. In addition, there are report cards, programs, photographs, and correspondence chiefly between Leila Mize and Jessie Mize but including a letter from Richard B. Russell to Charles Mize. Series two has documents concentrating on Jessie Mize. Among other things, there are news clippings, correspondence, photographs, booklets, a House of Representative Resolution, certificates, diplomas, a memory book, and a sampling of Jessie Mize's publications along with her G-Book. Additionally, there are notes belong to LG Hardman and a certificate and diploma belonging to Jessie's father, Charles A. Mize.

The collection consists of mostly photocopied articles from various historical agencies, some original correspondence, maps, photographs, and newspaper articles relating to subjects Mr. Davis has written about. Included are materials about Georgia's participation in the Texas Revolution; Charles Cole Hind and Aetna Insurance; and miscellaneous Georgia material (especially historic Georgia houses). The first deposit relates to Georgia's participation in the Texas Revolution. There is general soldier information, rosters, maps, flags, and photographs, plus specific information on James W. Fannin and William A. Ward. The Charles Cole Hind and Aetna Insurance material concerns Georgia and Alabama. Mrs. Hind, as the insurance representative, made pre-Civil War building insurance surveys in the two states; xeroxes of the surveys are in this collection. There is also a copy of the book of instruction for agents & a bound copy of The 100 Years of Fire Insurance..., the history of Aetna from 1819-1919. Finally, selections from the miscellaneous Georgia material include: information about the Harris-Pearson-Walker House in Augusta, Carter's Quarters (National Register house) in Murray County, gold mining in Georgia, and materials gathered on the history of Clinton and other places in Georgia.
