The account book was also used as a scrapbook, and contains recipes, poetry, and newspaper clippings regarding agriculture, framing, and home remedies. The collection also includes a ledge that appears to deal with the purchase and sale of cotton in the Madison, Georgia area, from 1889-1898.

The shop book contains accounts for customers (probably in DeKalb County, Georgia). It lists the customer name, date, cost, and services (such as sharpening a plow or repairing a wagon wheel or garden hoe). The accounts for 1884-1885 concern cotton sales. Also included are a few recipes from newspapers and an 1898 church program for the Mill District Sunday School Association Clifton Church. There are modern day notebook pages taped over some pages in the book. On these are handwritten transcripts of letters from an unidentified father to his son in Savannah, Georgia regarding the sale of enslaved people on a plantation.

The collection consists of papers of Henry Pattillo Farrow and Farrow family members from 1855-1937. The papers include correspondence, letter books, newspapers, clippings, printed material, bills, receipts, account books, and photographs. The bulk of the collection relates to Henry Pattillo Farrow and documents his involvement in Republican politics in Georgia during and after Reconstruction; his positions as Georgia Attorney-General, U.S. District Attorney, collector of customs for the Port of Brunswick (Ga.), and as postmaster of Gainesville (Ga.). Materials pertaining to Farrow's administration of the Porter Springs resort Queen of the Mountains include hotel ledgers (1877-1896), account books (1886-1892), registers (1893, 1899), a cash book (1886-1889), a memorandum book (1886-1904), and employees lists (1889-1891). From 1907-1937, the collection consists of business and family correspondence of John A. Whitner (Farrow's son-in-law) and Henry F. Whitner mainly pertaining to the administration of the Queen of the Mountains resort.

The collection consists of papers of Nellie Peters Black from 1875-1920. The collection primarily contains materials relating to Black's involvement in various organizations and in her stock farm. Includes records (1905-1928) relating to Black's position as secretary of the Women's Auxiliary of the Atlanta Archdeaconry of the Episcopal Church; programs (1906-1907, 1909-1911) of the Every Saturday Club (Atlanta, Ga.), a literary society; a scrapbook (1898-1911) containing correspondence, accounts, and newspaper clippings relating to her involvement in the Atlanta Free Kindergarten Association; and a scrapbook (1914-1915) documenting her role in establishing agricultural rallies through the Georgia Federation of Women's Clubs. Other materials relating to Black include diaries of a trip to Mexico (1875) and two European tours (1904, 1906); speeches, newspaper clippings, and an extensive collection of photographs of the Peters and Black families. The papers include the manuscript and galley proofs of the reminiscences of her father, Richard Peters; some correspondence of her husband George R. Black; and account books (1897-1916) of the Richard Peters Stock Farm (Calhoun, Gordon County, Ga.). Also includes papers of her daughter Nita Black Rucker (1900-1940) mainly family correspondence and Rucker's writings about Cora Harris and Nellie Black Peters.

The materials include account books, correspondence, deeds, diaries, indentures, land grants, letter books, and minute books. Topics covered include the Revolutionary and Civil Wars, slavery, the Salzburgers, and Indian tribes in Georgia. The collection contains papers of John M. Berrien; William H. Crawford; John Forsyth; Williams Gibbons; Charles Harris; Herschel V. Johnson; James Wright; the Bosomworth, Habersham, and Houstoun families; as well as numerous other Georgians. Of particular interest are records (1861-1863) of the Consulate of Great Britain in Georgia during the Civil War; an account book (1818) of Dr. Lewis H. Feurth containing the date, name of patient, treatment, and payment; a diary (1733) of Peter Gordon describing life in Georgia and relations with the Indians; a diary (ca. 1714-1763) of Caleb Davis pertaining to his trading activities in Georgia with the English and Spanish; and a letter book (1804-1806) of William Woodbridge documenting his import/export business and the difficulties of trading with Europe and England during the Napoleonic Wars.
