The file consists of photocopied research compiled by Mary Rose Taylor pertaining to the creation of the Margaret Mitchell Emergency Clinic and Hughes Spaulding Pavilion of the Grady Memorial Hospital and Margaret Mitchell's support of Morehouse College. During her life, Margaret Mitchell contributed to Morehouse College to provide scholarships for Black medical students. When she was struck by a taxi in 1949, she was taken to Grady Hospital where she died.

The collection consists of one marriage license issued to William Webb and Mariah Timmons on October 13, 1843 in Baker County, Georgia. The license is signed by Robert Hardie. The verso of the document has the seal of Baker County and a certification that this is a "true & correct copy of the marriage license," dated June 8, 1855 and is signed "Thomas Cox, Ordinary."
