The collection consists of mostly original letters and royal orders covering the years 1648-1653 pertaining to the administration of Brazil, the war against the Dutch, reorganization of the armed forces in Bahia, commerce, and other matters of like import. The documents are written in old Portuguese and some are faded and difficult to read.

The collection consists of twenty-five letters, written by Robert Blair Smith to Anna Jane Smith of Social Circle, Georgia during the Civil War. The earliest letter was actually written in 1859, but others date from wartime and were written from various infantry camps throughout the Southeast. His letters report on combat and the daily operations of the infantry, including camp life. The collection also features a table of contents for the letters, listed chronologically and annotated with historical notes in bold and italics.

The collection consists of papers of the Linton and Hull families from 1799, 1824-1873. The bulk of the collection contains correspondence (1861-1864) from William Henry Waddell, stationed in Alabama and Georgia probably with the 9th Georgia Infantry, to his cousin, Julia Hull of Athens, Georgia in which Waddell discusses military officers, camp drills, living accommodations, his health, seeing sick and wounded Confederate soldiers, seeing Union prisoners of war, visiting relatives in Montgomery, Alabama, news from home, communication with John Linton, and his plans for teaching after the war. Two letters (1853, 1858) from John S. Linton to his wife Lucy Ann Hull Linton detail Linton's business in New York, buying machinery, opinions of Boston, Massachusetts, and visits with friends. Additional correspondence includes a letter (1848) to Howell Cobb from Asbury Hull in which Hull discusses candidates for president and suggests Zachary Taylor; a letter (1849) from George G. Hull to his sister in Athens, Georgia detailing poverty in Pennsylvania and how much better their slaves live; and a letter (1873) to John Linton from Alexander Stephens pertaining to attempts by Linton to recoup financial losses on cotton destroyed as enemy property. The collection contains a 1799 copy of a 1784 land grant, an 1826 land grant, and indenture documents dated 1824. Finally included are a note written by Miss Lucy Linton (undated), regarding Dr. John L. Linton's resignation, and three newspaper clippings and obituaries of John S. Linton.

The collection consists of two letters (and one envelope) addressing William Schley. The first letter, dated May 6, 1852, addresses Cousin William, and is signed E. B. Hook; second letter, dated October 9, 1852, is signed Daniel Hook. Also included is a daguerreotype of William Schley and his wife, and a bank draft signed to Schley by Joseph Clarke of Columbus, Georgia (dated 1857).

The collection consists of transcripts created by E. Merton Coulter from contemporary, hand-written copies of letters and documents from 1732-1745 relating to the Trustees for Establishing the Colony of Georgia in America. The correspondence includes letters between officials and settlers in the Colony and the Trustees. Major correspondees include James Oglethorpe, Thomas Causton, Samuel Eveleigh, Thomas Christie, Elisha Dobree, John Wesley and Trustees Benjamin Martryn and Harman Verelst. The letters provide comprehensive information regarding the settlement of Georgia, especially in Savannah and Frederica; Indian trading and relations; activities of the French and Spanish; the question of slavery; Salzburger and Moravian settlers; and religious matters.

This collection contains the papers of Rebecca L. Griggs, a student of Reverend I. R. Branham's Private Academy for Young Ladies in Eatonton, Georgia from during the mid-19th century. Most of the collection is comprised of Rebecca's letters home to her mother about school and social activities. Other correspondence includes invitations to social events, a love letter from a suitor named D. T. Singleton, a letter from her cousin Fannie Holt about Rebecca's upcoming marriage, and a letter from Rebecca to her husband. There are also a few receipts and visiting cards.

The collection consists of photocopies of three letters to Marion T. Wood from his father, from 1950-1951. Also included is a typescript titled Whence Cometh My Help by Marion T. Wood describing Wood's experiences during the Korean War.

The collection consists of correspondence from William E. Smith to his mother from August 21, 1862-March 27, 1865. Correspondence details weather, rumors, marching details, orders and logistics. Smith writes from Murfreesboro and Chattanooga, Tennessee; Graysville, Georgia; Chickamauga Bridge, Tennessee; Resaca and Marietta, Georgia; and camps near the Chattahoochee River and at Jonesborough, Georgia. He also writes from Savannah, Georgia and camp near Goldsboro, North Carolina. The collection also includes a photograph of Smith in civilian clothes and a typescript of the correspondence.

This collection consists of papers from William G. Bragdon's family. Most of the letters are written from William J. Bragdon to his brother from New Bern, North Carolina and later from Army camps in which he is stationed. Additionally, there is a letter from "Mother" to Ed, a poem for a funeral, and various printed material.

The collection consists of correspondence from Sir John Glubb in Mayfield, England to Diane Hanson during the years 1971-1986 as she worked at Troy State University (AL), Brenau University (Gainesville, GA), and High Point University (NC). There are also printed obituaries and memorials, photographs, and several handwritten chapters of Glubb's book The Way of Love. There are no letters from Diane, but Glubb's letters are filled with his opinions on politics, religion, women's rights, and Middle East history. He includes inspirational quotations with most letters and gives many details of his health and family.
