The J. Henshaw letter collection is a single piece of correspondence regarding Point Peter, Georgia, located near St. Mary's, Georgia, and the conditions there. Unhealthy marshes and the sicknesses and death of local individuals is discussed. This area was later the site of a fort built in 1795 that was later burned by the British after the War of 1812.
