The collection contains a memoir written by Junius Hillyer describing life on his family's plantation, slavery, the family's move to Athens, Georgia (1821), Junius' attendance at grammar school, descriptions of and activities at Franklin College (University of Georgia). Also includes photocopies of letters from William Dickerson and Peter Wellborn Martin, friends of the Hillyers; materials pertaining to the publication of THE LIFE AND TIMES OF JUDGE JUNIUS HILLYER; and dedication of a marker at the Freeman Hillyer homeplace in Popular Grove, Georgia.

The collection consists of seven typescripts of articles about the history of Macon County. Articles cover the schools of Macon County, newspapers in Macon County, early churches in Macon County, and the history of Montezuma, Georgia.

The collection consists of lecture notes and Examination Blue Books of Kenneth Coleman from 1936-1949. Subjects were history and political science, and classes were taken at the University of Wisconsin and the University of Georgia.

The collection consists of a reproduction of 33 pages of a manuscript history of Lexington (Georgia) Baptist Church and accompanying notes. The history gives a list of trustees from when the church was incorporated in 1852, a list of pastors from 1847-1937, and lists of some of the deacons, treasurers, etc. Accompanying notes include: one church bulletin dated June 1964; and the front page of the Oglethorpe Echo dated Thursday Jan. 24, 1963, featuring three photographs under the caption "Lexington Baptist WMS Celebrate 75th Anniversary in Period Costumes." Additional newspaper articles (undated, unsigned) include: "Lexington Baptist Burn Pastorium Note" ("National Editorial Association, 1962, Affiliate member" printed on reverse side); and "Baptists Slate Homecoming."

The collection consists of a summary of the history of Christ Church, St. Simon's Island copied by Wymberly Jones De Renne from a letter written by the Rev. D. Watson Winn to Mrs. Walter G. Charlton, April 22, 1904. Also included is a list of the rectors from 1735 to 1898.

The collection consists of correspondence concerning the design, production, use and sale of Georgia's Historical Plates. These plates were made by Wedgwood and distributed by the Transylvania Club of Sandersville, Georgia. The correspondence covers the period from 1932-1966 and contains several letters from historian Lawton B. Evans. Also included are several newspaper clippings and a photocopy of a history of the plates.
