The collection consists of correspondence from J. Carl Mullis to Bernice Williams while serving in World War I. Mullis writes from Fort Monroe, Camp Eustis, and Camp Hill, Virginia; and France. Correspondence concerns Mullis's transfers, Mulberry Island, rumors, camp life, his views of the war, and attacks in Fort Montmorency. The collection also includes correspondence and newspaper clippings relating to the death of Trafford Williams, a Garrison cap and insignia, and genealogical materials from 1942-1965.

Included in the typescript are minutes dating January 2, 1864-July 21, 1864 (copied from the original by Mrs. Marjorie Brasselle Malloy, January 20, 1977), lineage sheets on the first two generations of Brasselle's, and personal remarks added by Malloy regarding Brasselle descendants.

United Daughters of the Confederacy small oval framed painting of Confederate flags, 1900 ; 5. souvenir poster of the 44th annual reunion of the United Confederate Veterans ; 6. gavel made of native cedar given to the U.D.C. president general by the State of Arkansas ; 7. gavel made of wood from the home of Alexander H. Stephens and presented to the U.D.C by Robert R. Gunn with typed sheet stating these facts.
