Abstract Or Scope:
The Zell Miller Papers document Miller's forty-five year career in Georgia politics, including his service as a U.S. Senator (2000-2005), Governor of Georgia (1991-1999), Lieutenant Governor of Georgia (1975-1991), Executive Director of the Georgia Democratic Party (1971-1973), member of the State Boards of Pardons and Paroles, Probation, and Children and Youth (1964-1973), Executive Secretary to Governor Lester Maddox (1969-1971), State Senator (1961-1965), and Mayor of Young Harris, Georgia (1959-1960). Series VI. Photographs contains a variety of photographs from Miller's career in politics. The majority were generated during his tenure as Lieutenant Governor and Governor and document events in which he took part, including speaking engagements, state dinners, dedications, awards ceremonies, and conventions.

This collection contains postcards, posters, photographs, artifacts, and other printed materials relating to women's suffrage movements in the United States and England. Also included are items documenting efforts toward action on women's rights and temperance. Featured items include signed correspondence by Susan B. Anthony, a stereo card featuring Anna Howard Shaw, a divorce paper from 1793, a North Caroilina bastardy bond, and a banner decorated with postage stamps.

Clarke Olney papers, 1900

These papers consist of research notes, pictures, clippings, articles and correspondence of the late Dr. Clarke Olney of the English Department at the University of Georgia. The papers contain a wealth of research done by Dr. Olney for two books: Caroline Lamb, a Biography and Dearest Lord: Caroline Norton's Letters to Lord Melbourne. Typescripts of both books are included; neither has been published. An article, Caroline Norton to Lord Melbourne from the Caroline Norton research, was published in Victorian Studies, March 1965. Papers from the research were read at SAMLA in 1954 and 1955, Glenarvon Revisited in 1954 and Caroline Norton's Letters to Melbourne in 1955.

The collection consists of papers relating to Lt. Colonel Henry Gaither, 1792-1838. Mainly pertaining to Gaither's administration of Fort Wilkinson (Georgia), the collection includes hospital rolls, orders, receipts, and correspondence. Documents contain information on supply matters, trading, medical care, military discipline, and other official matters. Correspondents include Howell Cobb, Hugh McCall, Benjamin Hawkins, Archibald Lee, the merchants Habersham and Company, and Ferdinand Phinizy. The collection also includes miscellaneous materials relating to Fort Fidius and Fort Adams.

The collection consists of papers of the Lindsey Durham family from 1800-1919. The papers contain mainly correspondence of the Durham and Richardson families of Clarke County, Georgia. Records relating to the Durham family include correspondence to Dr. Lindsey Durham from several of his sons, including William Walker Durham, Henry Clay Durham, and Lindsey Durham, Jr. while attending medical school in Philadelphia; accounts of Dr. Samuel D. Durham (1859-1867); and medical school notes, lecture tickets, and some medical remedies and recipes. Materials relating to the Richardson family of Watkinsville, Georgia include letters from Edgar Richardson in Troup Artillery from Virginia and D.R. Richardson (unit unknown) from Virginia and North Carolina during the Civil War; letters (1847-1882) from James J. Richardson, to his mother, Letitia J. Richardson from Mexico and Texas; and letters from Edgar Richardson in Texas after the Civil War.
