The J. Phil Campbell, Jr. Papers document the entirety of Campbell's career in agriculture, including as a farmer, Georgia state representative, Georgia Commissioner of Agriculture, U.S. Under Secretary of Agriculture, and consultant. The papers include correspondence, research materials, speeches, and appointment calendars. Common subjects include the progression of Campbell's career, economic policy related to agriculture, international trade of agricultural products, various agricultural industries, especially poultry and dairy farming and programs to eradicate fire ants.

Charlayne Hunter-Gault Papers, 1959-2018

Abstract Or Scope:
Charlayne Hunter-Gault is a journalist and former correspondent for National Public Radio and CNN. In 1961 she and Hamilton Holmes became the first African Americans to attend the University of Georgia. Hunter-Gault has spent much of her career as a foreign correspondent, where she covered the fall and aftermath of apartheid in South Africa, as well as other political developments in Africa, the Middle East, and the Caribbean. She has been awarded a Peabody award for Excellence in Broadcast Journalism and was named Journalist of the Year by the National Association of Black Journalists in 1986, among numerous other honors. This collection documents her experience as one the first two African American students at the University of Georgia and her career in journalism.

The E. Roy Lambert Papers documents the life and career of the state senator and long-time representative from Madison, Georgia. Lambert served two terms as a state senator and served in the House of Representatives from 1965 until his retirement from politics in 1985. The collection includes papers which document Lambert's political and legal career. This collection also includes personal and political photographs of Lambert as well as campaign memorabilia.

The Financial Materials examine the entire fiscal process of the university, from Budget Requests through final audit and financial reports for the fiscal year. Also present on this series are working papers, rough drafts, reports, support documents and related correspondence. These records are substantially complete from the late 1940s through the early 1960s, and reflect best the marked growth of the University and the Comptroller's Office. Also present are copies of bound Proposed Budgets.

This collection contains papers documenting both Hunt's professional and personal life. Architectural material includes blueprints, project files, contracts, photographs, correspondence, maps, and design samples on a variety of residential, civic, commercial, and public housing projects throughout the Southeastern United States, but with a strong emphasis on North Georgia and upstate South Carolina. Personal papers include Clemson University correspondence, military documents, and travel memorabilia. Correspondence, newsletters, invitations, and certificates from Hunt's membership in various organizations: AIA, Georgia Council AIA, North Georgia Chapter AIA, AIA College of Fellows, National Council of Architectural Registration Boards, Elberton-Elbert County Chamber of Commerce, and Rotary Club. There is also political correspondence with Georgia Democratic candidates and politicians, most notably President Jimmy Carter, including personal correspondence, fundraising information, and campaign material from Carter's term as governor of Georgia as well as the 1976 and 1980 presidential elections.

The papers document the sale and lease of lands, administration of the Academy of Richmond County, role of the Trustees in the growth and development of Augusta, and evolution of the purpose of the Trustees.
