The collection consists of blueprints and plans from thirteen different institutions in the University System of Georgia. The University of Georgia is the most represented institution in the collection. Non-collegiate projects, such as the Chicopee Manufacturing Company (the site of which is now belongs to UGA's Facilities Management Division) and several agricultural facilities are also included. In additions to blueprints and plans, the collection contains some campus maps and comprehensive campus plans.

The Georgia Review records collection consists of materials from the late 1940s through the 2000s. These materials trace the history of the journal from its struggle to stay financially afloat in the late 1940s through its current award-winning and nationally respected modern day status. The work-related correspondence of most of the The Georgia Review's editors is found here along with documents related to exhibits and conferences the journal's staff participated in over the years. Also of interest, is a large amount of material such as original manuscripts and listings of authors and artists who have contributed to the journal.

The collection documents Thomas H. McHatton's activities in World War I, World War II, and the American Legion; activities of Joseph and Eleanor Lustrat including her involvement with the Red Cross in World War I; Marie L. McHatton's activities with the Garden Club of Georgia (Athens) including correspondence and printed material on gardens or garden clubs in Georgia and the United States; and James Alexander McHatton family papers pertaining to the family's flight to Cuba after the Civil War, their life on a plantation in Cuba, and their return to the United States.
