This collection has a number of UGA Music Department scrapbooks with materials (mostly clippings) dating from the 1933 through 1960. Also included are recordings of the Glee Club and Hugh Hodgson (playing piano) along with photographs of a 1940 performance of "Elijah" and autographed sheet music.

The collection consists of correspondence, court documents, and clippings related to Dr. Wilkes' appellate work for Carl Isaacs and George Dungee in the Alday family murder case. The correspondence is primarily between Carl Isaacs, Donald E. Wilkes, Jr., and Christopher Hamilton. Court documents include petitions, habeas corpus applications, subpoenas, and motions. Press materials document the proceedings from the pretrial period until after conviction. A poster about the Alday family murders from a special series in the Atlanta Journal and two t-shirts with pro-electric chair messages are also included.

Gustavus Woodson Smith papers, 1858-1863

The papers of Gustavus Woodson Smith, 1858-1863, include correspondence with CSA President Jefferson Davis, often quarreling about army administration and strategy, appointment of staff, and his subsequent resignation as Major General. There is one letter to his wife Lucretia from New Kent County, Virginia, three reports with revisions on engagements at Eltham Landing and the Battle of Seven Pines or Fair Oaks during the Peninsular Campaign in Virginia, and operations of the Georgia Militia near Atlanta during the 1864 Atlanta Campaign. Also included is an original battlefield map showing Smith's route through Virginia in the vicinity of Fairfax Court House (1861).
