Abstract Or Scope:

The collection consists of the paper records of Howard Finster, including correspondence, postcards, notebooks and various writings. The collection also contains the art related materials the High Museum did not imagine would be used in exhibits of his art. This includes unfinished works as well as such items as: paper on wood in many different shapes; plate with Gerald Ford on it; painted yellow gourd; 1 container of Minwax; an empty Kodak Camera box; various paint containers; brushes, knives and other art related items.

Abstract Or Scope:

The collection consists of papers of Charles Coburn from 1892-1959. The collection includes scrapbooks, scripts, photographs, and interviews. The scrapbooks contain mainly newspaper and magazine clippings dealing with Coburn's film, theater, and television career; his involvement in the Mohawk Drama Festival (1935-1940); and scrapbooks of a more professional nature. The collection includes stage, radio, film, and television scripts and stage and screen photographs of productions in which he appeared. The papers also include Coburn's collection of celebrity photographs, albums containing photographs (1937-1952) of Coburn portraying characters in various productions during his years in Hollywood; typed transcripts of interviews of Coburn by Victor Rosen from November 1955 - April 1956; and printed matter relating to the Coburn Players (1909-1918) who presented classic stage productions at American universities and colleges.

Correspondence, audiotape transcripts, and other papers, relating to Clarence Jordan, Koinonia Farm, a religious and interracial community near Americus, Ga., which he founded in 1942, and his Cotton Patch Gospels; together with correspondence to his wife, Florence (Kroeger) Jordan, concerning his death and legal matters. Includes correspondence to his mother while a student at University of Georgia and Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, original Koinonia commitment, and coroner's report on Jordan's death. Topics include an alleged insurance claim scandal and racial violence.

The Artists-in-Education program was sponsored by the Georgia Council for the Arts with funding from the National Endowment for the Arts. Its mission was to place professional artists in Georgia schools. The collection includes residency and site applications from schools detailing goals and specific program needs, progress reports, financial documents, final reports detailing artist's experiences, applications for the Georgia Challenge program, meeting notes written by Cary Cleaver, directories of artists, feedback from artists and schools, and newspaper articles focusing on arts in education.

The collection also contains Bachtel's vita materials and information related to his numerous reports, projects, and publications.

This collection consists of materials that Conrad Fink either created or collected during his lifetime of news reporting and teaching journalism at UGA. Included are numerous articles that he summited to the Associated Press (AP) while covering Asia during the mid-1960s along with general interest stories about the U.S. written for the AP during the 1980s to 2000s. There is information about various newspapers around the country, their daily workings and the owners of these papers. There are also documents (1977-2011) related to the classes that Fink taught and the speeches that he presented along with galleys, reviews and other materials connected to books that he authored. In addition, the collection holds a large amount of both his professional and personal correspondence dating from the 1980s to 2011.

The Richard B. Russell, Jr. Collection, Subgroup C, Series XVI: International consists of correspondence and printed material relating to international regions, countries, cities, topics, and incidents. It is subdivided into general correspondence and subject files. General correspondence contains writings and materials of a general international nature. The Subject files include correspondence and materials pertaining to specific geographic regions, such as Africa and the Middle East, and countries such as Cuba, Angola, the Dominican Republic and Vietnam. Materials relating to the British Loan (1942-1946), the Berlin Crisis, the Cuban Missile Crisis, the Pueblo Incident, and the Dominican Republic Crisis of 1965 are located in these files. Any additional non-textual materials originally filed with papers were removed for preservation purposes and improved access. These materials include photographs, audiovisual items, scrapbooks, vertical files, memorabilia, and books.
