The General's notations and descriptions appear on much of the surfaces of the photographs. "Nothing on face" indicates no additions by the General; all references to additions refer only to those made by him, unless otherwise noted.
Titles of the Photographs are generally those given by the General, and are not in every instance the entire caption.
