Letter of William Glascock, Robert Forsyth, and James Stallings, Justices of Richmond County, to Governor and Council mentioning breaches of the peace in Augusta caused by James McKay's murder on 29 August of an accused horse thief Richard Nichols, the murderof John O'Niel of Augusta by Christopher Teasdale, merchant of the town, on 16 September, and Teasdale's escape from jail on 18 September. The correspondents ask for assistance in calming the public outcry.
