Processed materials include typescripts, manuscripts, notes, and correspondence, that document Harwell's interest in Southern history and the Confederacy. Included are Harwell's notes and revisions for his condensations of Freeman's "George Washington" and "R. E. Lee". Also included are manuscripts, proofs, and correspondence(1960-64) of "The Confederate Hundred", "John Esten Cooke", "Kate", "Outlines from the Outpost", and "Two Views of Gettysburg" (edite).
