The General series consists of correspondence, news releases, magazine and newspaper articles, pamphlets and other printed materials regarding constituents' requests, lists, House of Representatives routines, office records, Democratic party (see also Series VII. Political on microfilm), Georgia topics, invitations, and various contemporary issues such as civil rights and Vietnam.
The series is divided into two time periods, 1965-1970 and 1969-1970, and is arranged within each alphabetically. An Accomplishment File, arranged by county, is located between the two chronological subseries and records the federal funds obtained for each county in O'Neal's district. See also Series VI.
