This sub-series contains photocopies of declassified materials relating to foreign policy events experienced by Martin J. Hillenbrand during his time as a Foreign Service Officer. It includes American and German government press releases on specific events, meetings, or speeches; press conference transcripts; summit meeting texts; and copies of memoranda, correspondence, or official background briefing material released by the White House and the State Department. Topics include the Berlin Question, European security, NATO, the Quadripartite Agreement, modern German and Hungarian political developments, Malta, Cardinal Mindszenty, Henry Kissinger, Leonid Ilyich Brezhnev, Willy Brandt and Helmut Schmidt.
