Series I documents Campbell's service in the Georgia General Assembly as representative for Oconee County (1948-1953). The series includes constituent correspondence, particularly in protest over the discontinuation of training about farming for World War II veterans; copies of legislation related to regulating agriculture, education, and public health; newspaper clippings about Campbell's opinions and public appearances; handbooks about the Georgia General Assembly and the legislative process; and a 1952 financial report about the State of Georgia.
