Scope and content:

This series documents Judge Hawkins' campaign for Associate Justice of the Georgia Supreme Court and is organized into three sub-series: correspondence, general, and ephemera. The correspondence, arranged alphabetically by correspondent, includes support letters from Charles J. Bloch, Ben W. Fortson, James L. Gillis, Charles L. Gowen, Roy V. Harris, William B. Hartsfield, Henderson Lanham, Ralph McGill, George L. Smith, II, and Herman E. Talmadge. The general files include receipts, invoices, campaign committee files, and lists of supporters and contributors. The types of ephemera include campaign cards and leaflets. Arrangement is alphabetical.
