D. Speeches

Scope and content:

This portion of the Civil Rights Series contains Talmadge's speech notes used in his remarks on the Senate floor. Some of the speeches are incomplete. It is not clear whether the missing portions no longer exist or if they are contained in other portions of the Collection.

Unfortunately, most of the speeches are undated. Therefore, there are two separate arrangements in this group. All dated speeches are arranged in chronological order. The library staff has made an effort to determine the subject content of the undated speeches in order to aid the researcher. These are arranged alphabetically by topic.
