The County and District Files series contain materials related to county and district events, committees, and elections. Records in the series dates from 1966 to 1995 and materials are arranged chronologically. The series includes qualifying forms for candidates during election years organized by county, congressional district, senate district, and elected position. Materials of special interest in this series include those related to the reorganization of county committees after the party adopted its first state charter. These county files date from 1975 through 1982 and include correspondence to and from county committees, memos, demographic information, and county affirmative action plans. Digital files include databases with information about candidates and voters from 1996 to 2004, and redistricting from 2002. Candidate information includes contact information, profession, caucus and political memberships. Voter information includes demographic data, voting history, and sometimes answers to survey questions about how important select issues are to the voter. Redistricting includes maps and other information about Georgia, and national census data.
