Scope and content:

The Administrative series includes records to and from the Chairman, Executive Directors and other Democratic Party of Georgia members. The records date from 1965 to 2001 and are arranged chronologically. Administrative correspondence dates from 1965 to 1988 and includes materials from Chairman James Gray (1966-1970), Charles Kirbo (1972-1974), Marjorie Thurman (1974-1982), and Bert Lance (1982-1986) and digital files from David Worley (1998-2001). Correspondence and materials from executive directors includes: Joe Sports, Zell Miller, J.R. Kirkland, Charles Graves, and Bobby Kahn, and Andy Maddox.

The administrative series includes files from different areas of the party's organization- finance, county and district, committees and conventions, in addition to administrative correspondence, memos, research, and subject files. Digital files include Democratic Party Campaign Director, Roman Levit's files and include staff email accounts, campaign strategy and budget documents, training materials for party leadership, and voter data. Voter data includes voting history, voter turnout, and vote predications. The majority of the files are documents, spreadsheets, photographs, and web pages.

An archivist will be in contact with you to explain how to access the files. Please note that not all file formats are currently supported by the library for research use.

Some digital files in this series must be reviewed for voter names prior to research use. These files are identified with an access note after the file title. Please request these files 3 business days prior to requiring access to the files to allow time for this review.
