The Savannah branch of the Georgia Advocacy Office was established in 1978. In 1983, Chatham-Savannah Citizen Advocacy became an independent nonprofit organization after securing its own 501(c)(3) status. The records in this collection consist of administrative records, photographs and documents on past events, the files of former Coordinator and Executive Director Tom Kholer; ended Advocate/Protege case files; artifacts, photographs; audiovisual material; and other materials documenting the organization, its advocacy principles, and programming.
Chatham-Savannah Citizen Advocacy is a 36-year-old community-based non-profit organization that recruits, matches and offers support to over 110 local citizens in voluntary citizen advocacy relationships. To date, the collections includes newsletters, reports, brochures and other publications that document its work over three decades.
