Rev. Charles Colcock Jones, Sr. (1804-1863), a Presbyterian clergyman and planter, married Mary Jones and resided in Liberty County, Georgia.

Scope and Content

The collection consists of a bound manuscript titled Observations on the Last Hours of the Revd Charles Colcock Jones, D. D., Who Died at Arcadia, Liberty County, Georgia, March 16th, 1863. The manuscript is written by Jones' family, and includes copies of letters, the last entries of Rev. Jones' journal, obituaries and newspaper clippings regarding the deaths of Mrs. Mary Jones, Mrs. Ruth Berrien Jones, and Charles Colcock Jones, Jr. The collection also includes written records of marriages, births, and deaths in the Jones family.
