Historical Note

Dr. Henry Jackson (1778-1840) was the younger brother of Governor James Jackson of Georgia.

Scope and Content

The collection consists of papers of Henry Jackson dating 1800-1840. Included are minutes of the Board of Visitors of University of Georgia (1832), documents and lists concerning apparatus Jackson purchased for the University of Georgia when he was in France, and correspondence to Jackson from Francois Andre Michaux, Augustin S. Clayton, John R. Golding, Iverson L. Harris, Charles F. McCay, H. N. Neisler, and G. W. LaFayette.
