Doyle Mathis was the provost and professor of government emeritus at Berry College and was the head of the Political Science Department at West Georgia College, Carrollton, Georgia.

Scope and Content

The collection consists of five correspondences regarding the publication of Doyle Mathis' article entitled Georgia Before the Supreme Court: The First Decade. Correspondents include Doyle Mathis and Ellis Merton Coulter. Also included is a typescript of the article Mathis wrote. The article concerns cases in which Georgia was a party before the Supreme Court during the Court's first ten years of existence.
