Dr. Abner Embry McGarity (b. 1832) was a surgeon in the 44th Georgia Regiment.
Scope and Content
The collection consists of one letter from A. E. McGarity, Surgeon 44th Georgia to Mr. J. C. Johnson, dated Headquarters, 44th Georgia Regiment near Morton's Ford, Virginia, December 5, 1863. The letter regards $50 owed to Dr. McGarity by the late Col. Samuel P. Lumpkin.
