Scope and Content

The collection consists of Joel Chandler Harris' original autographed Azalia manuscript, with hand written letters from Harris to Richard Watson Gilder laid in, along with the first publication of Azalia as it appeared in Century Magazine. The collection also consists of two letters from Harris, holiday cards featuring Brer Rabbit prints drawn by Mary Harris Rowsey and Evelyn Harris, and an envelope featuring a Joel Chandler Harris print and postage stamp.
