Historical Note

Black Lives Matter is a social and political movement that protests police brutality and racially motivated violence against black people that began in response to the death of Trayvon Martin in February 2013.

Scope and Content

This collection contains artifacts from Black Lives Matter protests in the Fairlie-Poplar district of Downtown Atlanta and the Wendy's restaurant at 125 University Avenue in South Atlanta during June 2020.
