Collection Description

Historical Note

Thomas Goree Little (1911-1962) was an architect from Atlanta, Georgia. He received a Bachelor's Degree in Architecture from Georgia Tech in 1935, and worked in New York City and Colonial Williamsburg before coming back to Atlanta and starting his own practice specializing in designing houses and furniture in the Colonial style, and historic restoration. He and his wife Charlotte, who designed interiors for his houses, worked extensively with the Georgia Historical Commission on sites throughout the state. Mr. and Mrs. Little were amoung many members of the Atlanta Art Association killed in the Orly Field plane crash in Paris, France in June 1962.

Scope and Content

This collection contains architectural renderings of many different projects including residential and commercial work, furniture design, and historic projects. The collection features well known Georgia sites in New Echota, Fort Yargo, and Elijah Clark State Parks, and Eagle Tavern in Watkinsville. Several drawings of projects in Colonial Williamsburg, Virginia are also included.
