Cassius J. Waite was a Union Army private of the New York 123rd Regiment, Company K.

Scope and Content

The collection consists of a Civil War diary written by Cassius J. Waite. It is bound in black leather with a gilt stamped folding flap, dated 1864. Waite records the march under General William T. Sherman from Chattanooga to Atlanta during the spring and summer of 1864.
