The collection consists of one letter: dated Newburgh, September 19, 1838, to "Miss Garrettson," signed "A.J. Downing," regarding the New York Horticultural Exhibition on September 29, 1838, and asking her to tell Freeborn Garrettson and Edward P. Livingston of the exhibition.
