Scope and Content

The collection consists of a scrapbook commemorating Mother's Day activities at Fort Benning, Georgia, May 8-10, 1942, with compliments of Colonel Walter S. Fulton, commanding officer. The scrapbook contains a Mother's Day Program; Colored Mother's Program; letters sent to mothers by Commanding Colonel of the 29th Infantry; captioned photographs of soldiers and their mothers; and newspaper clippings describing the event.
