Historical Note
Daniel N. Speer was enlisted in the 4th Georgia Battalion, Confederate Army, later the 60th Georgia Infantry. He married his wife, Aurelia Moreland, on July 5, 1860, in Troup County, Georgia.
Scope and Content
The collection consists of one letter: dated Pulaski House, Savannah, Georgia, January 26, 1862, "My devoted wife," signed "Daniel N. Speer," regarding daily activities and troop morale.
