Scope and Content

The collection consists of six diaries kept by H.D.D. Twiggs from 1883-1888. Twiggs writes about his work, travels in Georgia, the Northeast, Midwest, Virginia and Washington, D.C., and meeting with politicians including Rutherford B. Hayes, Grover Cleveland, and Alexander Stephens. Twiggs also writes about legal cases he is involved in, meeting with old war buddies, and talking about old battles.
