Historical Note

Cleveland Wood was a telegraph operator, messenger and clerk enlisted in the U.S. Army in the Philippines in 1904.

Scope and Content

The collection consists of the diary of Cleveland Wood, entries dating January 1-March 16, 1904. Journal entries regard Cleveland's work as telegraph operator, messenger and clerk in the Philippines, during the Battle of Port Arthur in particular. The collection also includes a promotion document for Billups Wood to Sergeant of Cavalry, October 6, 1910 from Boise Barracks, Idaho.
